Masonic Memorial Services will be held Sunday, November 20, 2011, at 3:00 PM for Wors. NORMAN HOFFMAN, P.M. at the Hollywood Masonic Lodge #355, 19626 Ventura Blvd. Tarzana, CA 91356.

Wors. Norman Hoffman was a member of the Neptune Society.

Food Fair

Hollywood Lodge #355 in Tarzana will be hosting a food fair every week starting this Sunday October 2nd from 11am to 3pm. There will be 5 food trucks serving a variety of gourmet meals. This event will raise funds for the lodge itself, for the Granada Hills Job’s Daughters as well as for the Hollywood Order of Demolay.

Collegium Solvitur Ambulando – July 26, 2011 Meeting

Brethren:

The July meeting of Collegium Solvitur Ambulando, Hollywood Lodge’s philosophical discussion group, has been been moved to Tuesday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m. It will be held in the Lodge’s social hall. Both the July and the August meetings have been moved to the last Tuesday of the month to accommodate the Lodge’s current degree schedule. We should have the meetings back on the last Thursday of the month starting in September.

Brother Mark Thie will be giving a presentation on Hermeticism, a history and how it relates to Masonry. Hermeticism is a belief system/religion based on teachings attributed to Hermes Trismegistus. Bro. Mark will be providing some excellent resources for those interested in learning more about this ancient mystery school.

This presentation and discussion is open to all masons. Dress code is casual or better.

Annual Lodge Picnic

our Annual Picnic will be held on

Saturday, July 23 at Woodley Park section 1 in Van Nuys.

Yes, this is the same location as last year.

This year’s picnic will have a carnival theme.

As always, there will be plenty of great food and games.

This is a FREE event for the brethren, their families and guests.

We will start serving the barbeque about noon, so come early.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the picnic!

Lodge Remains Dark

Stated Business Meeting will be held on May 12, 2011

Greeting Brethren, Ladies and Friends,

Regretfully, I must once again inform you that the Hollywood Lodge will remain dark until repairs to the lodge room are completed. We will however be holding an abbreviated stated business meeting on Thursday May 12, 2011 at 7:30 PM. THERE WILL BE NO DINNER OR ENTERTAINMENT. Please note, this is not a type-o, the business meeting will not be held on the first Thursday, but rather the second Thursday of May (special dispensation has been granted by Grand Lodge)

Repairs are commencing, and we are hopeful that we will once again be meeting weekly by the first of June. We look forward to welcoming you to a repaired and newly renovated Lodge Room.
